In the spring of 2010 I chose to participate in an alternative spring break program. Through this program I traveled to Alotenango, Guatemala and lived with a host family for 7 days. During this week the volunteer group I traveled with and I built a house for a local family in need. It was a life changing experience that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
